HAESKN: Making Amazon a Day-One Priority for a Brand-New K-Beauty Sun Care Launch

HAESKN is a brand-new Korean-American founded sun care brand, brought to market at the start of 2026 for people who actually move — runners, hikers, padel players, and everyday active lifestyles — with a K-beauty-inspired formula built for reapplication on the go. Unlike a brand adding Amazon years into its life, HAESKN's founders wanted Amazon to be a core growth engine from day one, running alongside their DTC launch rather than following years behind it. That meant building an entire Amazon presence from nothing - content, compliance, advertising, and reputation — as a bootstrapped brand, in a category crowded with $6 commodity sunsticks. Prima Mode stepped in as the team to build that channel from the ground up.

The Challenge

HAESKN launched with a strong brand story and formulation, but as a brand-new company with no retail or marketplace history anywhere — no reviews, no sales data, no existing customer base to draw on. Prima Mode needed to:

  • Stand up a brand-new Amazon presence from absolute zero, for a company that itself was only months old

  • Make Amazon a genuine growth priority from launch, not an afterthought bolted on once DTC matured

  • Rebuild content from scratch across the PDP, backend SEO, and storefront to earn attention in a crowded, undifferentiated category

  • Operate capital-efficiently as a bootstrapped brand, proving the channel could grow without heavy ad spend

  • Protect HAESKN's premium K-beauty positioning against a sea of low-cost, mineral-marketed competitors

The Results

  • Strong, consistent month-over-month revenue growth from the very first month of launch. Achieved a subcategory rank under #500 under 2 months; initially being over 2k!

  • Conversion rate jumped from ~5% to ~20% — a nearly 4x improvement — within the first month of paid campaigns going live

  • A 4.7+ star average rating and 40+ reviews within the first two months — an exceptionally fast trust curve for a brand nobody had heard of on Amazon

  • Advertising stayed efficiently above target ROAS on a lean, disciplined budget, proving the channel could grow without the brand needing to outspend to compete

  • Weekly customers reaching the Awareness stage of the funnel grew ~4.4x in a single week following a mid-campaign expansion — a clear signal of new-to-brand demand, not just re-served existing traffic

  • A second SKU (SOLCHECK UV Sensor Stickers) launched end-to-end, including solving a parent-child bundle structure Amazon typically makes difficult

  • A seamless account foundation — three Amazon policy flags resolved (address variation x2, trademark compliance) with zero listing disruption

  • Unlocked meaningful early access and savings through Amazon's New Seller Incentive program, stretching a bootstrapped ad budget further than it could have gone alone

  • Creator Connections live and running

  • Amazon now represents a meaningful share of HAESKN's total brand revenue, growing from a $0 starting point

Our Approach

A Day-One Launch, Built to Be Seamless Most brands treat Amazon as a channel to add later, once DTC is proven. HAESKN's founders wanted it live and growing from the start. We built the entire account foundation — Brand Registry, FDA/OTC compliance, account health — in step with the brand's own launch, so Amazon opened as a genuine growth engine from month one rather than a slow follow-on.

Content Built From Scratch, Not Adapted Because HAESKN was brand new everywhere, there was no existing Amazon content to inherit or fix — everything was built fresh in conjunction with the brand founders: title, bullets, backend keywords, and product description, written around real buyer search behavior from day one. That work has continued across A+ Content and the storefront as the account matures, layering premium, K-beauty-forward storytelling on top of a keyword strategy built to compete against far cheaper, commodity sunsticks.

Capital-Efficient Growth as a Bootstrapped Brand As a bootstrapped, newly launched company, HAESKN couldn't afford to buy growth with ad spend. We built the advertising strategy around discipline rather than volume — keeping efficiency consistently strong on a lean monthly budget, and scaling only in step with proven performance. The result was steady, attributable growth in new-customer reach without the account ever needing to overspend to get there.

Unlocking Amazon's New Seller Incentive Program As a new seller launching from zero, HAESKN qualified for Amazon's New Seller Incentive program — and we made sure that access translated into real advantage rather than an unused checkbox. (more below)

Reputation Built From Nothing, Fast A brand-new ASIN has no trust signals to lean on. We enrolled HAESKN in Amazon's Vine program to generate its first wave of credible reviews, and the listing climbed to a 4.7+ star average with 40+ reviews inside its first two months on the platform — the foundation every other lever on this list depends on.

Solving for Complexity, Not Just Listing Products Launching a second SKU wasn't a simple add-on. We solved a parent-child listing structure to bundle the sunscreen stick with the SOLCHECK UV stickers — a configuration Amazon typically resists — while also navigating three separate compliance flags without any disruption to the live listing.

Category Positioning in a Commodity-Crowded Space Sunscreen sticks on Amazon are a race to the bottom on price. We built HAESKN's SEO and content strategy around what actually differentiates it — K-beauty formulation, no-white-cast finish, and an active-lifestyle identity — to compete against, and in several cases outsell, entrenched competitor ASINs on branded and conquest search terms.

The Real Impact

HAESKN now has:

  • A fully launched, retail-ready Amazon presence built as a genuine priority from day one, not an afterthought

  • A conversion rate that is a strong benchmark for a brand this early in its lifecycle, on either channel

  • A review foundation (4.7+ stars, 40+ reviews in two months) that supports continued category credibility

  • A second SKU live and bundled, expanding the catalog beyond a single hero product

  • A growing share of total brand revenue now running through Amazon — a channel that didn't exist for HAESKN a few months ago

  • A true operating partner managing the channel's profitability and growth trajectory, not just its ad account
